We answer within one business day, and usually the same day. If your
receptionist is not answering calls, put Urgent in the subject line and we
look at it first.
What to tell us
The more of this you include, the faster it gets fixed:
- your business name, so we can find your office;
- what you expected to happen, and what happened instead;
- when it happened — a rough time is enough for us to find it in the logs;
- for a call problem: the caller's number and roughly when they rang;
- a screenshot, if there is something to see.
Please never send us a password, a card number or a one-time code. We will never ask for one, and we never need your Google password — you connect Google through Google's own sign-in screen.
Things you can do yourself, right now
- Turn the receptionist off or on — in the dashboard, on the Calls page.
- Delete a call, or empty Recently Deleted, from the call itself.
- Change what your receptionist says — the opening script is yours to edit, and every version is kept.
- Export everything, delete your account, disconnect a Google account, or switch call recording off — one tap each, under Account → Your data. It reaches us immediately.
- Sign out everywhere, remove a passkey, or unpair an iPhone — on the Account page.
Common questions
How quickly will I hear back?
Within one business day, usually sooner. We're a small team in the United States (Eastern time), so a message sent late on a Friday may be answered on Monday. Anything marked urgent — calls not being answered, nobody can sign in — gets looked at first.
My receptionist isn't picking up.
First check that your line is still forwarding to the HelloBusy number on your Calls page — a carrier change or a handset reset is the usual cause. If the forwarding is right and calls still aren't reaching us, email us with the time of a call that went unanswered and the number that rang, and we'll trace it.
Something was sent that I didn't approve.
That shouldn't be possible for email or calendar changes — they go out only when you tap Send or Apply. Two things do act on their own if you switched them on: the receptionist answering your phone, and automatic replies to enquiries from your own website form. Both can be turned off. If you think something else went out, email us straight away with roughly when, and we'll check the History for your office and tell you exactly what happened.
How do I connect or disconnect my Google account?
Connect it from the dashboard — you'll be sent to Google's own sign-in screen, and we never see your password. To disconnect, either revoke it at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which is immediate, or tap it under Account → Your data and we'll delete the stored tokens the same day.
Can I turn call recording off?
Yes. Ask under Account → Your data or email us, and we'll switch recording off for your line. Your receptionist keeps answering and you keep the transcript and the summary — only the audio stops. Recording-consent law is your responsibility as the operator of the line; see the Privacy Policy.
How do I get my data out, or delete it?
Both are one tap under Account → Your data. An export is a complete, documented copy of your office. A deletion removes your data, your office and your backups, and destroys the keys they were encrypted with — see Retention & deletion. We start the same day and finish within 30 days.
Is my business's data mixed in with anyone else's?
No. Each business gets its own encrypted database with its own key, its own operating-system account and its own backups under a separate key. One office's key cannot open another's. The detail is in Where your data lives.
What happens if I run out of tokens?
Your receptionist keeps answering — calls are never dropped for running out, and the overage costs you nothing. The extras pause (new research, drafted replies, the morning brief) until your allowance resets or you move up a plan. We tell you at 80% and 100%, in the app and by email. See Terms §7a.
Billing, plans and cancelling.
Your Billing page always shows your real status. To change a plan or cancel, email [email protected] — self-serve cancellation arrives with Stripe billing. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the paid month, and your export stays available right through it. See Terms §8.
I need a data processing agreement.
We don't have a standard one on the shelf yet. Tell us before you connect anything and we'll agree one with you in writing.
The legal pages
- Privacy Policy — what we collect, who sees it, how long we keep it and how to get it back or delete it.
- Terms of Service — the agreement, approvals, billing and tokens.
Still stuck?
Write to us. What you were doing and what happened is enough to start.
